CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A woman was arrested and faces charges after she allegedly stole an ambulance from a hospital and drove it to her home late Thursday night.

Lisa Carr, 43, was a recently discharged psychiatric patient at Deaconess Hospital who reportedly needed a ride home. An EMS worker from the Cincinnati Fire Department had left “Ambulance 9” parked and running outside the hospital, which was reportedly not uncommon.

Carr then allegedly stole the ambulance and began her journey home. Police intercepted and attempted to pull the ambulance over on northbound Hamilton Avenue near Meredith Drive, but she reportedly ignored them and drove the extra 100 to 150 feet to her house, where she parked the stolen vehicle.

Theft and driving under an FRA suspension are among the charges Carr faces.
